Kaazing Joins the Docker Certified Program to Deliver Secure, Scalable and Real-Time Containerized Applications

Kaazing WebSocket Gateway Now Available on the New Docker Store

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 8, 2017 – Kaazing, provider of a secure, web-scale communications backbone for mobile-first customers and the connected enterprise, today announced that it has expanded its partnership with Docker by joining the Docker Certified Program to deliver secure, scalable and real-time containerized applications. Through the program, the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway Community Edition (KWGCE), the free version of the world’s first enterprise-grade WebSocket server for full-duplex bi-directional data delivery, and the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway Enterprise Edition (KWGEE) are now available to customers on the new Docker Store. The Docker Certified Program is specifically designed for third party apps, plugins and infrastructure, and the Docker Store provides a commercial marketplace for third party containers.

As organizations increasingly move towards highly flexible, software-defined IT infrastructures, they are seeking the kind of microservices-based data center architecture that the Docker platform helps enable. By extending its partnership with Docker, Kaazing is committed to ensuring that KWGEE and KWGCE will always be fully operable with Docker’s new commercially supported (CS) engine, enabling secure and real-time delivery of web-scale applications and microservices being deployed in containers in data center, cloud and hybrid environments.

“We would like to congratulate Kaazing on their acceptance into the Docker Certified Program,” said Marianna Tessel, EVP, Strategic Development, Docker. “Enterprise IT teams are looking to Docker to provide recommendations and assurances on the ecosystem of container content, infrastructure and extensions. Kaazing’s inclusion into the program indicates that Kaazing has been tested and verified by Docker, confirming for customers that the container images have been evaluated for security and are supported and built according to best practices.”

Since becoming a Docker partner last year, Kaazing has driven more than 100,000+ downloads of its technology through Docker.

“There is no question that Docker’s container technology is having a massive impact on organizations’ approaches to application development, and as a result, Docker has become a highly authoritative voice in the industry,” said Bob Miller, CEO, Kaazing. “We’re extremely encouraged by our entry into the Docker Certified Program, as it is further validation that we are steadfastly committed to providing our customers with the highly secure, scalable and enterprise-grade tools they need to offer their own customers innovative, real-time applications and services.”
