One of the most intriguing and beneficial use cases of Kaazing's web communication platform is the setup of Kaazing's Virtual Private Connection (VPC). Everything that isn't yet Web based, and everything that probably never will be can now leverage a single, far simpler Web Tier. Leveraging the Kaazing VPC solution it is possible to move the very vast majority, if not all, of an organizations applications to the Web Tier without having to change a thing on either the server side or the client side of the application. The Kaazing VPC solution transparently uses the Web Tier for all of its secure communication. It provides a VPN-style solution without the need for specialist VPN software. It moves the effort away from managing complex port security and firewall restrictions to allowing it to be spent on webscaling your organizations applications as you already know how. It dovetails into your existing Web security and scaling model, and it just makes things simple.
The Kaazing WebSocket Gateway can be configured to allow TCP (and UDP) clients to connect to servers over the Web without the need for any special Kaazing or WebSocket libraries, thus creating a virtual private connection. Kaazing WebSocket Gateway is designed not only to proxy TCP protocols using the WebSocket protocol, but it can also be run in a reverse mode of WebSocket protocol to TCP. This design allows system and network administrators to configure two or more gateways so applications can traverse the Web securely through firewalls and proxy servers.
