What is the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway DevPay product?
The Kaazing WebSocket Gateway HTML5 Edition and JMS Edition are now available as an Amazon Machine Instance (AMI) on the Amazon Web Services Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). In addition to our Enterprise and Subscription licensing models, customers can now use Kaazing’s reliable and secure web communications product in the Amazon cloud environment and use pay-as-you-go pricing.
What does the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway DevPay product do?
Innovative companies can now leverage a reliable, high-performance HTML5 web communication platform running as a service in the Amazon cloud. This pay-as-you-go offering allows customers the possibilities of building platform and higher-level application web-based services using our AMIs.
Why is Kaazing offering an AWS DevPay product?
Kaazing customers are increasingly deploying Living Web applications using a cloud-computing model. We recognize this need and have listened to the various customer requirements for web communications using the cloud model. Our AWS DevPay product is the first step of an overall cloud strategy to suit our customers.
Who should use these Amazon Machine Instances (AMIs)?
Kaazing has many innovative customers who are developing and deploying modern web applications, particularly as part of the HTML5 initiative. Most of these applications have requirements for reliable and high-performance event-based (“real-time”) information using the web. Our customers can now rely on the industrial-strength quality of our Gateway products in their own PaaS or SaaS products and leverage our unique emulation capabilities for legacy browsers.
Using our foundation AMIs, our customers can now create higher-level PaaS offerings, e.g., Notification as a Service and Enterprise Messaging as a Service by offering their own AMIs created with our AMI as a foundation. Or they can build “real-time” SaaS applications that leverage our DevPay product as an internal subsystem.
How easy is it to SETUP a Kaazing WebSocket Gateway DevPay instance?
The Kaazing WebSocket Gateway DevPay instance can be setup quickly. For reference see our
Kaazing AWS User Guide. The HTML5 Edition requires the editing of a simple configuration file to connect a back-end TCP (or UDP) service to the web. Customers can add their own simple logic to start this script upon booting our AMI.
How easy is it to USE a Kaazing WebSocket Gateway DevPay instance?
Once the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway is configured and running, it basically becomes “transparent”. The application is then virtually communicating directly with a message broker or other TCP service in a “client/cloud” relationship.
Are there programming examples on how to use the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway DevPay instance?
Yes. Programming examples are included as part of our product. When you launch our product on Amazon EC2 you will find many programming examples.
Is it possible to download a free trial of the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway?
Yes. If you would prefer to download and install a fully-functional version of the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway on your own server (or your own Amazon AWS instance) you can do so
here.
How do I get support?
Amazon supports their infrastructure with their software tools, i.e., the AWS management console and their own free and for-pay support policies. Kaazing offers free support using the Kaazing forums at kaazing.com/forums and per incident
Support Packs can be purchased for direct contact from
